Abbe Refractometer
Abbe refractometer is an instrument that can measure the refractive index nD and average dispersion nF--n c of transparent, translucent liquids or solids (mainly transparent liquids). If the instrument is connected to a thermostat, the refractive index nD within the temperature range of 0ºC~70ºC can be measured.
The refractive index and average dispersion are one of the important optical constants of a substance, which can be used to understand the optical properties, purity, concentration and dispersion of the substance. This instrument can measure the percentage of sugar content in sucrose solution (0~95%, equivalent to a refractive index of 1.333~1.531).
Therefore, this instrument has a wide range of uses and is one of the commonly used equipment in factories, schools and research institutions related to the petroleum industry, oil industry, pharmaceutical industry, paint industry, food industry, daily chemical industry, sugar industry, and geological survey.
